THOMAS M. ASKEW

Tom M. Askew is a shareholder and director in the firm’s Tulsa office. He litigates first- and third-party insurance matters, business disputes, transportation liability cases, bad faith cases, business torts, contract disputes with private and governmental entities, personal injury matters, and sports law.

With nearly three decades of legal experience, Askew has tried numerous bench and jury trials in the Oklahoma State and Federal Courts, and has substantial experience with mediation and arbitration matters. He is admitted to the Oklahoma State and Federal courts, as well as numerous federal appellate courts and the United States Supreme Court. He currently serves as a Municipal Court Judge.

A certified general agent, Askew is one of 1,200 members registered with the Major League Baseball Players Association. He also serves as outside General Counsel to B.B.I. Sports Group. The agency represents numerous professional baseball athletes.

Askew obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa School of Law in 1990. During law school he was a member of the Energy Law Journal. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1986.

Askew is an active member of the Tulsa County and Oklahoma Bar Associations. He received an AV Preeminent Peer Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been highly ranked by Super Lawyers since 2013. Askew is also named to the American Registry’s Top Attorneys in Oklahoma, America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals, American’s Most Honored Professionals (2019) and America’s Top 100 Bet-the-Company Litigators® for Oklahoma (2019). 

Askew assisted B.B.I. Sports Group in negotiating salary arbitration cases for Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley and Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy. He also helped present the salary arbitration case on behalf of Detroit Tigers pitcher Michael Fulmer.
