Charles L. Peters
Charles has practiced Criminal Law since 2002, first as a Deputy District Attorney, then as a defense attorney with the firm. He owned his own firm for 14 years prior to rejoining Riggs Abney in 2019. In his career practicing law, Charles has negotiated many successful settlements on divorce and family law cases and has had many criminal matters dismissed for his clients. He is committed to ensuring positive outcomes for his clients, whether through settlements or trial.
Charles also served as a presiding judge for the Fort Morgan Municipal Court, an associate judge for the Brighton Municipal Court and a school expulsion hearing officer for Aurora Public Schools.
Charles served his country for twenty years as a Hospital Corpsman serving with both Navy and United States Marine Corps units. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Hospital Corpsman. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming College of Law in Laramie and has been admitted to practice law in Colorado and Wyoming.
He is an active member of the Aurora Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.
