ROBERT A. NANCE
Robert A. Nance is a shareholder and director in the firm’s Oklahoma City office. His areas of expertise include appellate law, civil litigation, civil rights, environmental and resource law and government and politics.
Mr. Nance’s most notable cases involve representation of the state of Oklahoma versus the tobacco industry and the environmental harm caused by the poultry industry. He also defended the Department of Human Services in a major class action case regarding the foster care system. Mr. Nance served in the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office for more than a decade, where he argued and won two cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Nance is a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association and Oklahoma Bar Association. He is admitted to practice law in the Western, Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, as well as the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of the United States and the Cherokee Nation Supreme Court.
Mr. Nance obtained his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1978. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with general and political science departmental honors.
