IRA L. EDWARDS JR.
Buddy Edwards is a director in the firm’s Tulsa office. His area of expertise includes civil litigation with an emphasis in oil and gas law, and he is a member of the firm’s Oil & Gas, Civil Litigation, Civil Rights, Appellate, Employment & Labor Law, and Insurance & “Bad Faith” practice areas.
A United States Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Edwards earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1976. He graduated in the top 10 percent of his class and is admitted to practice in the Northern, Eastern and Western districts of Oklahoma, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Texas Supreme Court and Eastern District of Louisiana.
Mr. Edwards is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association and State Bar of Texas.
In 1998, Mr. Edwards won the Floraflax Int’l v. GTE Market Resources, Inc. case on appeal. The opinion was published by the United States Supreme Court and is cited frequently when questions arise regarding loss of profit damages.
