LISA R. RIGGS

Lisa R. Riggs is a shareholder and director, past president and executive committee member in the firm’s Tulsa office. She has been a civil litigator her entire career, which spans more than 30 years. She often represents clients with catastrophic injuries resulting from accidents, including victims of medical mistakes and medical or pharmaceutical products.

Ms. Riggs’ most notable successes and most public clients include Garth Brooks in his efforts to honor his mother with a donation to a hospital, who then failed to lived up to its responsibilities. She’s achieved multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts for many clients, and smaller settlements and verdicts for equally deserving clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Riggs served as a mediator in the District of Columbia Superior Court and the Tulsa County District Court. She earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1987, a master’s degree in arts from the University of Oklahoma in 1984 and her bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in sociology from the University of Oklahoma in 1982.

Ms. Riggs received the University of Oklahoma’s Distinguished Alumni Award and the Oklahoma Association for Justice Rex Travis Listserv Award, both in 2018. She has received an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell in legal ability and ethical standards, and has been highly ranked by Oklahoma Super Lawyers. Additionally, Ms. Riggs was named one of Oklahoma Magazine’s Top 25 Women Lawyers in 2012 and 2015.

Ms. Riggs is admitted to practice law in Oklahoma, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Maryland, the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
